Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) is a private not-for-profit organization and our mission is to sustain the economic revitalization of all communities in Upper Manhattan through job creation, corporate alliances, strategic investments, and small business assistance. Our grants and investments stabilize the economy, and propel investment, creating safe and vibrant neighborhoods throughout Harlem; East Harlem; Inwood; and Washington Heights.
