Grameen America and WE NYC to host Workshops for Prospective Microloan and Small Business Borrowers
May 7, 2019 — In February of this year, UMEZ provided a $4 million loan and a $115,000 grant to Grameen America, Inc. (GAI) to finance a new microlending program in East Harlem and continue funding their already established Washington Heights lending branch.
On April 12, 2019, UMEZ hosted an event with GAI, Washington Heights Chamber of Commerce, WE NYC, and Union Settlement to inform the uptown community of the renewed initiative. The next steps in receiving a Grameen microloan is to attend a GAI Information Session and learn more about the process.
