UMEZ Awards Sugar Hill Children’s Museum Capacity Building Grant

New York, New York – Two years ago, the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling (“the Museum”) opened in October 2015. The new facility is the cultural capstone of the Sugar Hill Project, developed by Broadway Housing Communities, a pioneer nonprofit in the creation of supportive housing with a cultural component. The Museum’s programs include art exhibitions, storytelling series, family programs, and arts education.

On January 26th, 2018, UMEZ signed a grant agreement with the Museum for $750,000 to fund capacity building. The grant will fund staffing needs and support the continued development of the Museum’s marketing materials and website to expand programmatic activity, audiences, and earned income.
