Senior Vice President of Business Investments

Ms. LaToya Wilson is the Senior Vice President of Business Investments at the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone. Ms. Wilson rejoined UMEZ following her work as the Director of Neighborhood and Commercial Development for the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) in New Haven, Connecticut. During her tenure in New Haven, Ms. Wilson negotiated the development terms and conditions for more than 20 acres of city owned land, managed over $550 million in mixed use redevelopment projects, and secured business relocation packages with the State of Connecticut to attract businesses to the City. Ms. Wilson also managed $4.5 million in state grant funds for Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) in addition to overseeing the boards of the Development and Redevelopment Commissions.

Ms. Wilson's career began at GE Capital as a graduate of the Organization's Risk Management rotation program after which she worked with GE Antares Private Equity finance group managing and underwriting leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, growth funding, and restructurings.

LaToya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Quinnipiac University.
