Mr. Johnson has over 20 years of expertise in the financial sector. He has served as a senior advisor to various financial institutions and corporations and is currently a Senior Vice President of Goldman Sach’s Investment Banking Division. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Johnson worked in Merrill Lynch’s Structured Finance Group, where he specialized in asset-backed securitization for Fortune 500 corporations. At the onset of his career, Mr. Johnson served as a member of Standard and Poor’s Structured Finance Conduit Group. Mr. Johnson joined the UMEZ Board in 2008.
Joseph J. Johnson holds a B.A. in Economics from Maryville College and a PhD (ABD) in Economics from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Johnson also serves on the board of the Children’s Hospital at Columbia University and is Chairman of the Board of the Romare Bearden Foundation.
